Description
Watch glass has a circular concave shape and multiple uses in chemistry. It is used as a surface to evaporate a liquid and as a cover for a beaker. A watch glass is also used for holding solids while being weighed and for heating a small amount of substance. Another use is to prevent dust or other particles from entering the beaker. However, the watch glass does not seal up the beaker completely, and consequently gas exchanges will happen. Watch glasses are available in sizes:
